Gold Coast
Although we tend to recommend the Gold Coast and its city delights for more than a simple day trip, it is a possibility to fill a single day at one of the Goldy’s many theme parks. Choose from Dreamworld, White Water World, Movie World, Wet’n’Wild World, and Sea World – all tucked into one convenient area of the Gold Coast.
Springbrook National Park
Springbrook National Park, located in the Gold Coast Hinterland, provides visitors with dozens of walking tracks, places to picnic and enjoy the rainforest, as well as a special section where both waterfalls and glow-worms call home. This national park sits just 62 miles (100km) south of Brisbane.
Lamington National Park
Lamington National Park is just 68 miles (110km) south of Brisbane, near the Springbrook National Park. Similar to Springbrook, this national park speaks to people who love nature, rainforest, ancient trees and walking tracks.
Moreton Island
This island across Moreton Bay, just 36 miles (58km) to the north of Brisbane, is composed of so much sand, it is actually given the title of the third largest sand island in the world. Because of its structure, Moreton Island makes a great day trip destination from Brisbane for those looking to do some 4WD adventuring and quad biking, in addition to camping and fishing.
